"We instinctively revere the great artist, painter or musician and society as a whole looks upon them as not quite ordinary beings.
"And they are not. They are a cut above Man. That they were born that way and were not audited1 to it does not make them less higher beings.
"He who can truly communicate to others is a higher being who builds new worlds."
- L. Ron Hubbard
Message from the Director
Our mission at EMA Artists USA is to help artists flourish and prosper. Today this is more vital than ever. As early as 1951, Mr. Hubbard states in Science of Survival: “The artist has an enormous role in the enhancement of today’s and the creation of tomorrow’s reality.” No matter how talented, artists seldom make their living and receive fair exchange for their artistic works unless they have workable administrative and organizational tools to fall back on. With fierce competition in the art marketplace today, understanding marketing and promotion is also vital to success. That’s exactly where EMA Artists USA comes in. I urge you to become part of our movement.

Featured Artist of the Month: Barbara Anne Dunn
Barbara's art and poetry celebrates the beauty of life and living, and remarks the vagaries of the human condition. Chinese Brush Painting is her newest artistic pursuit. Its ancient traditions, its spirituality and its intimate connection to poetry make it the perfect choice of visual expression. Her favorite subjects to capture with the brush are exquisite flowers and bold, spirited horses. Through Barbara's art and writings, she furthers equine advocacy and human rights, and poses a new view of humane stewardship and humanity.

Please tell us a little bit about your art business.
My art business is an extension of my love for beauty and poetry, and my lifetime efforts to make the world a better place through aesthetics. My art is found primarily on Facebook and Instagram at this time.
In general, how has the use of Mr. Hubbard's administrative technology impacted your business?
The understanding of the Hubbard Management System and its application to life and business is a viewpoint and an operating basis, vital to my planning and my accomplishment of business and life goals.
What piece of Mr. Hubbard's administrative wisdom have you found particularly helpful in making your business successful?
There is so much wisdom, it’s rather difficult to choose just one piece! But I would say the technology of Ethics and Conditions, standardly applied.
As a successful art business owner, is there one really valuable tip that you would like our readers to take away with them?
Yes. Persist! Set your goals, and focus your energies and activities on achieving those goals. It will help you overcome any barriers that may stand in your way.

Joel Morris

Joel is a watercolor artist living in Florida. He started a project late last year to get his art better known in his area by participating in local exhibitions. In April of this year he has had paintings on display in four different locations including the Imagine Museum and the Clearwater Main Library.
As a student of the Hubbard Management System, he knew that if not enough people were seeing his art that he needed to follow the steps to become better known. Consequently he programmed out the actions he needed to take and it has proven very successful. Joel stated "The Hubbard Management System has always pointed the way for me to expand my activities and success."
This month Joel is also the Featured Artist on Artsy Shark, a website dedicated to helping artists build a better business. The website offers many articles on marketing and sales strategies for artists along with personalized guidance.
Not content to rely only on exhibits put on by others, he has organized, along with other members of EMA Artists, an art exhibition titled Beauty Before Age at the Elevate Senior Living community in Clearwater. "This exhibition will promote local fine artists. We are confident it will be a success and the first of many annual exhibitions in the future," Joel said.
You can find Joel online at Joel’s Sketchbook of Life, Facebook and Instagram.

In the press release that was written, it mentions: "Ms. Edrich is also a member of the Effective Management Association USA, reflecting her dedication to professional development within the industry."
