Summer is the time of the year where creative festivals and activities abound for artists. Never forget the power that lies in your creativity. In a world that often rushes past beauty and depth, your art is a reminder to pause, to feel, and to see things differently. Creativity is not just an outlet, it’s a lifeline. It challenges, heals, and connects. Whether you paint, write, sculpt, sing, or dream through your work, what you create matters. It may not always feel like it, but your voice adds color to a world that needs more light, empathy, and imagination.
We at EMA Artists are here to help you achieve your creative pursuits. Our purpose is to UNITE, SUPPORT and INSPIRE artists of all genres to achieve artistic success using the Hubbard Management System. To find out how you can join, contact us.

Featured Artist of the Month: Rachel Rausch-Johnson, Photographer
Rachel Rausch-Johnson is a portrait artist whose work begins long before the camera comes out. Whether she’s photographing executives, business owners, corporate teams, or individuals ready for images they’re proud to share, her process is intentional, collaborative, and rooted in one simple goal: helping clients finally see themselves clearly, and like what they see.
Please tell us a little bit about your art business.
My photography business was started in 1995. My first images were of landscapes from the Eastern Sierra Madres. Then I took an internship with a portrait photographer and fell in love with portraits. I learned studio lighting and posing, which allowed me to get more creative. I work with all kinds of people. From everyday women and men to business owners, friends, and families. With the portraits, my goal is to capture the spirit of the person I’m photographing. I apply that same philosophy to my still life and landscape images. I sell prints, portrait books, and framed portraits.
In general, how has the use of Mr. Hubbard's administrative technology impacted your business.
I had been in business for a few years. But recently things really took off. Because I had already been using the Hubbard Management System, I was not worried that I would get burned out. I knew that with the management technology, I could get more organized. And I did! It’s still a lot of work. But it is something that I don’t have to guess at.
As a successful art business owner, is there one really valuable tip that you would like our readers to take away with them?
The best thing you can do for your business is to get organized, and STAY organized. This takes away 80% of the stress. It works for me.

Misha Crews, Author

Leisa Collins, Architectural Artist
Leisa is known as the most prolific artist of historic architecture in the USA, having created paintings of homes and historic buildings in all 50 states. Her cross-country adventure is covered in her pictorial coffee table book, Hand Painted Homes: An Artist's Pen and Watercolor Journey Across America.
In order to give back to those who set stellar examples of historic restoration, in 2013 she launched the Leisa Collins Historic Preservation Award, where she presents an original painting of the honored subject. Leisa will present her latest award to the L. Ron Hubbard Landmark Site in Elizabeth NJ on the 25th of July. See the details below. All are warmly welcome to attend.
Janice King, Visual Artist and Designer
Janice King is a visual artist. She creates paintings and transforms them into beautiful, colorful, expressive wearable art fashions for women. "Art is not just for the walls," she tells us. "Art can be worn and brought to life on your body." Janice celebrates women through her artwork and wearable art fashions.
In honor of Juneteenth, she created a hand-painted T-shirt to wear at the Juneteenth celebration at the Delaware Art Museum. Juneteenth celebrates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans across the United States. It specifically commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that the Civil War had ended and that the enslaved were finally free.
In addition to being a member of EMA Artists, Janice is the co-host of our successful Momentum Monday Meet-up, which is for artists who are new to the Hubbard Management System. It is held on Zoom every Monday at 6 p.m. You can read more about Momentum Monday below.

Artist Momentum Monday Meet-Up

Momentum Monday brings artists of various disciplines and backgrounds together in a virtual space to support creative growth, accountability, and forward motion. Here are highlights from one of our recent meet-ups.
Leisa Collins, our hostess, welcomed everyone to the meeting and repeated the purpose of the group, which is to Unite, Support, and Inspire artists, using the Hubbard Management System.
Leisa gave tips and tools to the attendees for attending art fairs, submitting artist applications for calls for artists, and using an art calendar, for which links were provided.
She encouraged artists to do their own careful research into the types of shows that are available, to look into attendee expectations at particular venues, and to read reviews from artists who had attended previous events at those venues. In this way, artists will be better prepared when selecting exhibition places. She also encouraged artists to get out of their comfort zones and look at exhibition opportunities outside their region for better exposure.
Several attendees spoke about their experiences with exhibits and shows. The meeting concluded with Leisa giving attendees a challenge to use the tips and tools provided and to report on their success at the next meeting.
