"We instinctively revere the great artist, painter or musician and society as a whole looks upon them as not quite ordinary beings.
"And they are not. They are a cut above Man. That they were born this way and were not audited* to it does not make them less higher beings. He who can truly communicate to others is a higher being who builds new worlds."
- L. Ron Hubbard
Message from the Director
Never forget the power that lies in your creativity. In a world that often rushes past beauty and depth, your art is a reminder to pause, to feel, and to see things differently. Creativity is not just an outlet—it’s a lifeline. It challenges, heals, and connects. Whether you paint, write, sculpt, sing, or dream through your work, what you create matters. It may not always feel like it, but your voice adds color to a world that needs more light, empathy, and imagination.
We at EMA Artists are here to help you achieve your creative pursuits. Our purpose is to UNITE, SUPPORT and INSPIRE artists of all genres achieve artistic success using the Hubbard Management System. To find out how you can join, contact us.
But most importantly, keep creating and keep exploring. With your creativity you are making magic.

Featured Artist of the Month: Danny Tyrell
Danny Tyrrell is a musician, composer and teacher. He started performing at age 14, and has played over 9000 times in over 20 countries. Read about how the Hubbard Management System helps him live his musical life.

Please tell us a little bit about your art business.
As a lifelong musician there have been many experiences that have guided me and taught me lessons. I was lucky to grow up around the great tradition of Motown, where artists were offered an opportunity to be discovered and were trained in manners, dress and performing. This gave me a chance to grow into a career and achieve a fulfillment unknown to many. I have experienced firsthand how cultural, ethnic, religious and racial barriers dissolved in life because looking for something to admire dissolved other considerations.
In general, how has the use of Mr. Hubbard's administrative technology impacted your business?
I was introduced to Mr. Hubbard's work in college. Later, when I was working for the Public Works Department, I learned about the Hubbard Management System and it helped me succeed in that job. After that, I took every course in Hubbard Management that I could, and I've used those skills to compliment my music career.
What piece of Mr. Hubbard's administrative wisdom have you found particularly helpful in making your business successful?
Mr. Hubbard refers to art as "the quality of communication," and that really resonates with me. I took a Communications course and that really offered me tools both as a musician and as a teacher. Teaching music has been an opportunity to duplicate communication, emotions and intention, from student to student and as a group.
As a successful art business owner, is there one really valuable tip that you would like our readers to take away with them?
Continue to expand your creations. After the pandemic I started writing songs and even won an award from Sweetwater Sound. This led to others being interested in playing my music and that is a project in progress.

Astrid Reeves

I recently had an art show called "Arts in the Middle" in Urbanna, VA. It was my first big art show of 2025 and what a great way to kick off the season! I decided to apply for this show because I've never seen that part of Virginia before. It was lovely, so close to the water and the town itself was so historic and quaint. They have a law there that allows you to drive golf carts around on the streets in the downtown area. How fun is that? I discovered that Urbanna is the oldest port town in America due to the tobacco trade back then.
I had a really great show and met lots of nice people who admired and bought my artwork. The show sponsors and all the volunteers were super supportive. My big piece on the front, "Laguna Beach at Sunrise," attracted a lot of attention. And somehow, miraculously, the sunlight backlit the paintings in the back of the tent and made them glow. There was actually one person who made a beeline for my tent and said she had to come over because she couldn't figure out how my paintings were glowing like that. Definitely a fortuitous angle of the sun!
